How we check prices

Our method, in plain language

Source hierarchy

We check prices in this order: (1) the chain's own official menu or app for that country; (2) the in-store menu where the app and the counter differ; (3) never another menu-price aggregator on its own — copying between sites is how one wrong price ends up on forty pages. Delivery-app prices are never mixed into counter prices: delivery menus are usually higher once fees and markups are added, so a delivery price is not a counter price.

Check cadence

Our most popular pages are re-checked in a daily rotation, and every restaurant page gets a full re-check at least once a month. The date under each page's heading — “Prices last checked” plus “Next check” — is the date of that page's own last check, not a site-wide stamp.

Why prices are still approximate

Most chains do not publish one national price: franchises set local prices, cities differ, and menus change. That is why every price on this site is an approximate average for the stated country, and why the restaurant's own site or app is always the final word for the exact price at your location.

Calories

We do not publish estimated calories. A calorie figure appears only where the chain itself publishes it; otherwise the column is left out rather than guessed.

Corrections

If a price here differs from the official menu, the official menu wins — and that page goes to the front of the next re-check rotation. A useful correction names the dish, the restaurant and the location, so we check the right menu. Note: this site does not yet have a contact form for corrections; until one is added, the official menu is the final word for any disputed price.
